ERICA L. KENNEDY

About

With a passion for independent film, creative development and storytelling, specifically surrounding the female experience and environmentalism, Erica is pursuing her BFA in Screenwriting and her BFA in Television Writing and Production at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts.

Having grown up in Lake Tahoe, Erica began her career in film creating environmental PSAs to Keep Tahoe Blue.  She has had many of her written works produced at Dodge College and has Directed several projects for the Dodge Television Department, which have been selected to festivals including the Toronto Short Film Festival, Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festival, and NFFTY.

In the Spring of 2020, Erica co-founded and currently acts as the President of The Reel Society, a student organization amplifying the voices of womxn, lgbtq+, and BIPOC creatives on campus and in the industry. She’s gone on to involve the likes of professors and professionals such as Liz Newman of Viacom CBS, and Liz Feldman, the creator of Dead to Me, as well as oversee 150 students passionate about making a cultural shift in the industry.
